Its going to have to be pretty great for me to not hate it for messing with an amazing song. About half way into it... its not great.I feel like someone could have at least recorded new chords so it didn’t sound all cut and disjointed.

I see what you’re saying, but it definitely gives it a stumbling feeling. I feel like I’m injured, riding on a horse listening to it, which I kind of like, and definitely plays into the lyrics. Not great, but not bad.

For the first 30 seconds at least it doesn’t feel raw, it feels processed to me. You hear the looping of the chords and its unnatural

You’re right, it definitely doesn’t capture the rawness of the original, which would be pretty difficult. That’s a very raw album. I used to listen to it when making long drives through barren deserts.

Fun fact, it’s not Johnny’s song. It dates back at least to the late 50's with Odetta
